Thailand
The so-called “Death Road” near Kanchanaburi. It was built by the British and Australian — and some other — prisoners of war who have been dying in large numbers due to malnutrition and sickness, hence is the name. The work was really hard; they had to cut their way through stone with nothing but hand tools. Now tourists can come here and ride the road.
