The inner hall of Umayyad Mosque in Damascus. The green construction contains the head of John the Baptist — or one of them since there are a few in Middle East. John is revered in Islam as a saint, thus the Iranian pilgrims in black robes. The whole floor of this giant hall is covered with carpets. Even non-Muslims can plainly take a sit here, especially somewhere at a wall or a column.
